We work closely with engineers to help build the best possible service to super serve our fans. Our fans expect a service that is highly available at any time and at any day, so do we. We keep the anime streaming. We are the DevOps team.

Our headquarters is located in downtown San Francisco, where our group of cross-functional experts assemble to create experiences for Crunchyroll and VRV's passionate communities.

A day in the life of our SRE Team:

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you’ll work closely with Software Engineers to help build and provision scalable microservices. You will use your innate abilities to debug and troubleshoot critical problems across our ephemeral cloud infrastructure. Monitoring and supporting our production environment that serves millions of users across the globe will be your lifeblood. You will improve efficiency, resiliency, and the performance of the infrastructure that powers the platform that serves both Crunchyroll and VRV.

About You:

  • Strong Unix/Linux systems knowledge. You are the most at peace when on the CLI and tuning kernel settings.
  • Strong AWS Experience. You’ve easily used three or more services in AWS with the word “Cloud” in it.
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure management tools such as Cloudformation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Vault.
  • Experience in deploying and managing distributed systems in a production environment.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as NewRelic, Graphite, Grafana, Sumo Logic, ELK.
  • Experience and familiarity with relational databases such as MariaDB and/or MySQL.
  • Strong core understanding of Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • Ability to read and/or write code in Python, Go, PHP, or Javascript.
  • Built and utilized CI/CD systems including Jenkins, GoCD, Travis CI, and/or other like tools.
  • Experience with managing and utilizing CDNs.
  • Passion for creating graphs and dashboards.
